Apple and Nike have unveiled a running shoe that tells you, via your iPod, how far you have run and how many calories you have burned. The Nike+ system consists of a transmitter that is slipped into the trainer and sends information back to the music player with every step; a voice on your iPod then tells you how you are getting on. The system has even been programmed so that when your energy levels start to flag, it calls upon a pre-chosen "power song" to give you a motivational boost. The sensor kit will be available from 13 July and costs £25; the first training shoe it can be fitted into, the Air Zoom Moire, will go on sale in July, priced £65.

1) Unwrap your kit, let your dog sniff everything.	2) Fit the under harness to your dog, adjust the straps to suit.
3) Put some duct tape tags onto the harness	4) Put some padding on top and tape it to the tabs
5) Lay the fur out and staple padding to it	6) Put tape over the staples to avoid injury
7) Put some extra duct tape on	8) Place it over your dog
9) Add some padding if required, tape flaps into place	10) Line up foot with 'special foot insertion device'
11) Place the ankle piece on the foot	12) Remove the 'special foot insertion device' and fluff up the ankle pieces
13) Put the hat on your dogs head	14) Take your dog outside and paint it black (use face paint supplied, safe for dogs)
